SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 24

Congratulating the 2001 Spirit of Community Award winners.
Whereas, Tasha Daft of North Marion High School and Kenneth West of East Fairmont High School were selected for national recognition by receiving the 2001 Prudential Spirit of Community Award; and
Whereas, This prestigious award, in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, honors young volunteers across America who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to serving their communities; and
Whereas, The success of the State of West Virginia, the strength of our communities and the overall vitality of American society depends, in great measure, upon the dedication of young people like Tasha Daft and Kenneth West who use their considerable talents and resources to serve others; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates Tasha Daft and Kenneth West on their selection as recipients of the 2001 Prudential Spirit of Community Award; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate commends the outstanding record of volunteer service, peer leadership and community spirit of Tasha Daft and Kenneth West; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to Tasha Daft and Kenneth West, the 2001 Prudential Spirit of Community Award winners.
